Historic Fairview Cemetery invites you to its fundraising event for Military Grave Marker Restoration/Preservation at the cemetery. Join us for afternoon tea amidst the early pioneers who grace this old historic cemetery. Gather friends and family, dress up in your favorite Victorian hat and clothing style for a delightful afternoon English Tea. Allow us to take you back to the 1800 – 1900s when the Sunday norm was going to church, followed by an afternoon picnic and hot tea and a visit with loved ones at the cemetery. You will also be serenaded by the New Mexico Territorial Brass Band.
In addition, Susan Drake Schwartz will share her story of how she became the Historian of the Historic Fairview Cemetery. Storyteller Dianne Rossbach will share tales of her grandmother, a Victorian era hat maker. Your ticket includes a variety of teas, an assortment of finger sandwiches and desserts. You can also take a self-guided tour of family plots … a printed informational brochure and cemetery map will be provided.
Fancy mustache cups will be available for purchase. There will also be amazing Raffle Prizes!!
- This event is by reservation only, and is now SOLD OUT. No tickets will be sold at the gate. If you are coming with friends (4+), please let us know so that we may set aside your own table.
- ONLY park in designated parking areas within the Historic Fairview Cemetery property! Please
be respectful … do not walk on graves.
I would not be able to attend this year, but I hope this Victorian tea happens next year!
I love tea and “high tea” and am glad to wear a hat. I am looking forward to this event.
Please let us know if anyone drops out. I have a friend trying to get a last minute ticket!
