On Monday, May 26th, a heartfelt Memorial Day observance was held at Historic Fairview Cemetery to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. It was a beautiful afternoon for reflection and remembrance.
We were honored to welcome guest speakers Woody Simpson, Post Commander of VFW Post 10763, and Sam Torres, a U.S. Army veteran who served in both Desert Storm and Afghanistan. Our sincere thanks to both for sharing their words and time with us.
The ceremony featured a moving performance by Alfred Bourquet, State Bugler, who played God Bless America and Taps.
A special thank you to our local Scout Troops for placing flags at each veteran’s grave—a powerful and touching tribute that brought the cemetery to life with patriotism and gratitude.
