On Monday, November 11, at 10:30 a.m. Historic Fairview Cemetery will pay tribute to U.S. veterans. The cemetery is the final resting place for approximately 550 veterans who served in conflicts ranging from the Mexican-American War to the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World Wars I and II, Korea, and Vietnam.
At the 11th hour, there will be a moment of silence to honor our veterans. Two retired US Army veterans will share their personal experiences and stories from their combined 47 years of military service
Historic Fairview Cemetery is home to many notable veterans, including:
- 14 Buffalo Soldiers.
- 42 Spanish-American War veterans, including 17 Rough Riders who served with Theodore Roosevelt in the 1st Volunteer Cavalry.
