Please volunteer to help keep Historic Fairview Cemetery clean and “green.” Every month, on the first Saturday of the month, volunteers come to the cemetery and wrangle weeds, pick up trash, and appreciate this local historical treasure. Our next volunteer clean-up will be on Saturday, April 5. We are starting at 9:00 a.m. and hope to wrap up by noon. We will focus on the area where the April 27 Victorian Tea will be held, which is the southwest corner of the historic side.
Please dress to protect yourself from the Southwest sun and wind. Wear sunscreen, a hat, long pants and shirts, sturdy shoes. Bring rakes and tools and gloves to garden, we’ll provide the trash bags. Water will also be provided.
Thank you to our regular volunteers! Everyone is welcome to come at other times with their own tools to take care of any family plots or areas you are interested in. The cemetery is open during daylight hours.
Directions to find us in the cemetery: At 700 Yale Blvd. SE, enter through the gates of Fairview Memorial Park, near the intersection with Caesar Chavez Blvd. Drive straight ahead toward the cemetery office. At the intersection, turn left and head north into Historic It’s just to the left of the wall that says Congregation Albert Cemetery.
